Usual is a dating app that introduces people based partly on recurring places and routines they have in common.
Do we have to be at a place at the same time?
No. Usual is based on recurring or meaningful places, not simultaneous presence.
Can someone see where I am right now?
No. Usual does not show live location.
Can someone see when I usually visit a place?
No. Visit dates, times, frequency, and schedules are not shown.
Can someone search a venue and find everyone who goes there?
No. Usual does not provide venue-based user directories or maps.
Will my home appear as a place?
No. Home and other private or sensitive locations are excluded.
Is my workplace used for matching?
No. Workplaces are excluded.
What other places are excluded?
Schools, medical facilities, shelters, treatment facilities, places of worship, and other sensitive destinations are excluded.
Do I approve my places?
Yes. A suggested place is not used until you approve it.
Can I hide a place?
Yes. You can hide, remove, or permanently exclude any place.
Will matches see the exact venue?
Before a mutual match, Usual shows only shared categories or general context.
After matching, exact venue names are revealed only when both people have allowed it.
Does Usual sell location data?
No. Usual does not sell precise location data.
Is location permission required?
Location permission is optional. Manual place selection may be available, although passive place discovery requires location permission.
Can I use Usual without background location enabled?
